Weekly Insights

What needs your attention this week

Bulk Import Weekly Numbers ๐Ÿ”’

Already have these numbers in your POS's weekly report or your own spreadsheet? Download the template, paste your numbers into the same columns (one row per week), and import โ€” this can add or update several weeks at once instead of retyping them one field at a time. Importing matches on Week Of; a week that already exists gets updated, not duplicated.

Import From Your Own POS Report ๐Ÿ”’

Don't want to retype numbers from your register's own weekly report? Drop its CSV export here as-is โ€” you map which of its columns are Cash Sales, Transactions, etc. once, and it fills in the form below for you to review before saving. If it has one row per day/transaction instead of one row per week, matching columns get added up automatically. Save your column choices as a preset so you only have to map it once per report format.

Forecast Next Week

Two numbers any manager already knows: what you want to sell, and how many hours you're open. Assumes one person on the floor per open hour as a baseline โ€” schedule more for busy stretches, less for slow ones, using what you know your team can actually cover.

Promo Effectiveness

Tag a week with a Promo Name above while it's running, then pick it here to see how it actually performed โ€” sales during, sales in the weeks leading up to and after it, loyalty impact, and return activity โ€” measured against a plain baseline from your normal, non-promo weeks.

Per-Product Before/After

Products don't keep week-by-week history, so this compares a snapshot you take manually. Snapshot your Products tab's "Units Sold" right before a promo starts, then compare it to current numbers once it's over.

Print Reports

Pick a week, choose one or more reports, and print them together on flowing pages or as separate printouts.

Opening & Closing Procedures

Purpose: Consistent store opening and closing to ensure safety, cleanliness, and accurate daily performance tracking.

After 8 years at CVS and 10+ years (and counting) at Sephora, sloppy opening and closing routines are one of the biggest hidden killers of store performance. Stores that do this well run smoother, have less shrink, and make more money.

Opening Procedure (30โ€“45 min before open)

  • Check exterior for issues (lights, signage, cleanliness)
  • Do a safety walk-through
  • Turn on lights, music, and POS system
  • Count cash drawer and log starting amount
  • Restock high-priority items (top sellers, demo units, impulse items)
  • Quick visual standards check (facing, cleanliness)
  • Review today's promotions and targets
  • Team huddle: goals and red flags, 5 minutes max

Closing Procedure (after last customer + 30 min)

  • Final customer cleanup and recovery
  • Process all returns and damaged items
  • Run end-of-day sales report from POS
  • Count cash drawer and reconcile with system
  • Restock and face shelves for next day
  • Clean high-touch areas
  • Log any shrink, issues, or maintenance needs
  • Set alarm and secure store

Key KPIs affected: Labor Cost %, Shrink %, Sales Per Hour (next day)

Hard-earned tips: Never skip the morning huddle. Train your team to close "like they're opening tomorrow." If short-staffed, prioritize cash reconciliation and security first.

Bulk Import Your Product List ๐Ÿ”’

Already have a product/SKU export from your POS or a spreadsheet? Download the template below, fill it in (or paste your data into the same columns), then import it. Importing matches on SKU โ€” if a SKU already exists, it updates that product; if not, it adds a new row.

Expected columns, in this order: SKU, Product Name, Beginning Stock, Units Received, Units Sold This Week, Current Stock, Reorder Point, Last Restock Date (YYYY-MM-DD), Zone/Area (optional), Unit Cost (optional). First row should be the header row โ€” it gets skipped automatically.
๐Ÿ’ก This same file doubles as your Mobile Scanner product list โ€” on your phone, use "Load Your Product List" and choose this exact CSV so scanned SKUs show their name. You don't need a separate export; the Scanner only reads the SKU and Product Name columns and ignores the rest.

Add / Update a Single Product

To change an existing product's price, quantity, or anything else, click "Edit" on it in the table below instead of retyping it here โ€” that loads its current values so nothing gets accidentally reset. If this SKU already exists when you save, Beginning Stock is filled in automatically from last week's actual count โ€” you only need to set it here for a brand-new product.

For a new product, set this. For an existing one, it auto-fills from last count unless you opened Edit to correct it.
What you paid per unit โ€” used only for the Inventory Value total below, nothing else.

Inventory Value

Total value of what's currently on your shelves, at what you paid for it โ€” useful for insurance, a bank line of credit, or your accountant. Based on Current Stock ร— Unit Cost for each product.

Physical Count

Walking the floor for a cycle count? Check off each product as you count it and type in what you actually see on the shelf โ€” checked items grey out immediately so you always know what's left.

0 of 0 counted

Scanned your shelves with the Mobile Count Scanner on your phone? Import that CSV here โ€” matching SKUs get their Counted Qty and checkmark updated, and anything scanned that wasn't in your list gets added as a new product if a name was typed for it on the phone.

Got a USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner plugged into this computer? Click into the box above first โ€” most scanners just "type" the number and press Enter for you, so each scan adds 1 to that product's Counted Qty automatically. Scan the same item repeatedly to tally it up, or type an exact number directly into a row below to override. Unrecognized SKUs aren't added automatically here โ€” use the form above to add a new product first.

Hot Zones โ€” Shrink by Area

Tag products with a Zone (entrance, checkout, an aisle, back stock โ€” whatever layout makes sense for your store) using the Zone/Area field above or in your CSV, and this ranks which areas are actually losing inventory, worst to best. Click a zone to see the SKUs behind the number.

This Location

If you're running this at more than one store, give each one a name โ€” it's included in your backups so a multi-location report (below) can tell them apart.

Backup Your Data

Everything lives only on this computer, in this browser. Export a backup file any time โ€” save it to your own cloud drive (Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud) if you want an off-machine copy, or use it to move your data to a new computer.

Moving to a new computer: export a backup here, install/open the app on the new machine, activate with the same license key, then import this backup file. That reactivation counts as one of your license's allowed device moves.

Multi-Location Report

Running more than one location? Each store's copy of this app runs independently โ€” nothing syncs live between them. Export a backup from each location and import them all here together for a side-by-side comparison over whatever date range you pick. Importing here never changes this device's own live data.
